Smart VAR — Real-Time AI for Sports Technology

Solo-built and deployed Smart VAR, a real-time AI decision-support system for soccer Video Assistant Referees, as the capstone for Morehouse College's 12-week AI Post-Baccalaureate Program. Trained Random Forest and Gradient Boosting classifiers on flattened StatsBomb event data with GridSearchCV; deployed on TACC HPC with AWS Lambda + S3; served real-time predictions via Flask API with a Streamlit dashboard. Reduced replay decision time by ~40% and presented at the BICE/INSPIRE national AI conference in Miami.
